One thing that will help you throughout your college days is staying organized! It makes things so much easier. Like most things, staying organized is easier said than done. The first month you are probably on top of things, you start meeting new people, getting used to the campus, learning to live independently. Keeping track of everything starts to become harder than you originally thought. Check out my Top 5 tips for staying organized!
Tips
1. Stay consistent! It’s so easy to slack off and become lazy. Force yourself to stick with it. Organization is a key skill to have!
2. Color code! Have set colors for your classes. For my science classes I have a green binder, for humanity classes I have a purple one, and so on. It’s much easier to remember what goes where and I guarantee you, you won’t take the wrong binder to class.
3. Keep everything neat and tidy, especially your work place. It’s so much harder to find the things you need if your space is cluttered.
4. Buy a planner. Keep track of homework assignments, tests, and meetings all in one book. If you want to you can even color code by task. Writing your tasks and assignments down will help you remember what’s due when. Trust me; doing this can be a life saver!
5. Don’t procrastinate! Yeah, we all do it but at the end of the day we put way more effort in completing the assignment than if we would have started on it earlier and spread it over time. Save yourself time and energy, end your procrastination!
